Sixth grade trip to Cuttyhunk

Posted June 4th, 2016 in Uncategorized by Charles Radville

Thanks to Rebecca Knutsen for these photos of a June 1 MLT sponsored trip for Hammondtown school sixth graders to Cuttyhunk Island. Here’s what Rebecca had to say bout the trip: Yesterday was one of those days I will cherish for many days to come. I had the distinct pleasure of taking a ferry to Cuttyhunk Island with 85 sixth graders from my town to see what life is like in the island’s one-room schoolhouse with just 2 students. The two schools have been collaborating on science projects via technology all year. The kids spent the day learning about the unique environment, aquaculture, ornithology, erosion and more from island inhabitants and area experts. I served as a chaperone¬†, on behalf of Mattapoisett Land Trust, a land preservation organization I care very much about.DSC 0316 400 wide Sixth grade trip to Cuttyhunk
