New map of Shoolman Preserve now available

Posted December 14th, 2015 in Uncategorized by Charles Radville

We’ve just added a map of the Shoolman Preserve, formerly called Old Field Farm in Rochester. This preserve is jointly held by the MLT and Rochester Land Trust. If you go up to the end of North Street (becomes Mattapoisett Road in Rochester) and turn left on New Bedford Road, you’ll see it on your left in just a short distance with MLT and RLT signs hanging together. Download the map and others on this page:

Need last minute gift ideas? Don’t forget MLT infant onesies, tee shirts and caps are available at the Town Wharf General Store on Water Street.

Gotta Have It stocks our logo tumblers from Harbor Days. They are insulated, unbreakable, covered, dishwasher and microwave safe, great for boating (I believe they float too!). They also come with a lifetime manufacturer guarantee. Go check it out.

And every dollar you spend helps support the Land Trust. Thanks and best wishes for the holidays from MLT.tumbler MLT 2 MLT gift ideas from local businesses baby onesie MLT gift ideas from local businesses

The Mattapoisett Tree Committee, in consultation with Tree Warden Roland Cote and in partnership with the Mattapoisett Land Trust, will present a tree-banding workshop in October to demonstrate a technique to trap winter moths after they emerge from the ground this fall but before they can climb trees and lay eggs for a new generation of caterpillars. The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 17th at the Land Trust’s property at Dunseith Gardens (where Salty the Seahorse lives) at 1:00 p.m. Rain date is October 18th.

Salty’s Soiree is coming up!

Salty’s Silvery Moon Soiree is coming up on October 24. The time is 5:30 to 8:00 at Dunseith Gardens (where Salty lives, North Street and Route 6). You’ll have park off site, so bring a flashlight. This year we’ll have storyteller Toby Dills for your entertainment. We’ll also have (as always) the fixin’s for s’mores and cider to wash them down. Open to all!
