Stewardship Log

Welcome to the Mattapoisett Land Trust Stewardship Log!

We need your help to keep protected properties in their natural states and accessible to the public.

If you have visited one of the properties and seen something that needs attention:

  • A trail is blocked
  • The property is being misused
  • You are unsure of where the property begins or ends
  • Any number of other concerns
  • Praise (this is good to hear too)

Report it on this page as a comment.

  • Include the name of the property (or as close a description as you can provide.)
  • Add a photo to our Flickr group page if it helps get your point across. (Or even if it’s just a nice picture.)

What you enter will be reviewed and passed along for action.

Comments and responses with be archived in sequence, along with the resolutions.

Thank you so much for your participation in keeping Mattapoisett’s open spaces accessible.

Blanche B. Perry Scholarship Announcement

Posted February 18th, 2010 in News by petermello

Mattapoisett Land Trust seeks applicants for its first $1,000.00 “Blanche B.Perry Scholarship Award”, which will be awarded to a Mattapoisett high school senior graduating by June 2010, from secondary school pursuing an education in environmental studies or a related field.

The scholarship is made available through the Edith Glick Shoolman Fund, a bequest left to provide support for children in the community. The scholarship is consistent with the MLT mission of preserving land in order to enrich the quality of life for present and future generations of Mattapoisett residents and visitors and of furthering environmental education in the community. Welcome to the MLT website

Posted February 15th, 2010 in Conservation by petermello

Welcome to the website of the Mattapoisett Land Trust. We have decided to enter the cyber age for a number of reasons. Specifically, we would like to:

  • Make it easier for you to learn about the nature of our organization and why we exist.
  • Provide a reference where you can find a schedule our activities.
  • Encourage you both to use our properties and to appreciate their biodiversity.
  • Solicit new members and volunteers for the ongoing support and growth of the organization.
  • Facilitate your display of support for the Mattapoisett Land Trust through the purchase of merchandise bearing our logo.

We encourage you to use the Contact Us page with your comments about our mission, our actions on behalf of that mission, or just on the characteristics of this website. The Directors of the MLT want to serve the needs of the community, but, to do so effectively, we need feedback from you. Please don’t be shy; let us know what you think.

We hope that you will use this website frequently to learn about the activities of the MLT and that you will choose to be a part of our efforts to protect land on the South Coast of Massachusetts for present and future generations.

Once again, welcome to our website. We hope you enjoy your visit.
