Shoolman Preserve introductory walk May 15

Posted April 26th, 2016 in Uncategorized by Charles Radville

The Rochester Land Trust is very pleased with the work they have accomplished together with the Mattapoisett Land Trust (MLT) in opening up more than 1½ miles of trail at the Shoolman Preserve (formerly called Old Field Farm) across from 199 New Bedford Road in Rochester. This 80-acre property had been donated to the MLT by Edith and Eliot Shoolman in 1984, long before RLT existed. Last year MLT made the RLT co-owners and the RLT took on the stewardship responsibility. When the RLT wanted to expand the trail system, MLT volunteers helped open more trails.

Come walk with us on Sunday, May 15th at 11AM. We’d like to show you what’s been done there.
