In case you were wondering, the Soiree at Dunseith Gardens (where Salty the Seahorse lives) is still set to start at 5:30, today, Oct. 22.
Storytelling with Big Ryan Racette is scheduled for 6:30.
Come along and fix up your own s’mores!

Salty’s Silvery Moon Soiree is Coming Up!

Saturday, October 22 is the date of the 2016 Soiree. It runs from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M.
Come to Dunseith Gardens, at Route Six and North Street for family fun.
There will be music, storytelling by Big Ryan of Big Ryan’s Tall Tales and fires to make your own S’mores (ingredients included).
This is a free event, open to the public and always provides an evening of fun for all ages.
There is no parking at Dunseith, so bring a flashlight to find your way home or back to your car.

Ticks carry a host of diseases, and are active in spring, summer and fall.  Come learn effective and safe methods to protect yourself from tick-borne illness.  Following last year’s well-received winter moth workshop, Deborah Smiley, Publications Managing Editor at Harvard’s Museum of Comparative Zoology, will demonstrate practical tools to repel and eliminate ticks.  This workshop is sponsored by the Mattapoisett Land Trust, for more information see our website or email us at  Join us and enjoy being outdoors again!

Harbor Days 2016

Don’t forget Mattapoisett Harbor Days this weekend, July 16 -17. Visit our booth under the big tree by the parking lot at Shipyard Park. Learn more about our mission, and our preserves new and old. Get maps of our trail systems. Check out MLT gear and merchandise and support us in our continued activities to preserve and protect land for your enjoyment.
Also, there will be pony rides for $5 this Saturday 11 – 3 at the Munro Preserve (next to Shipyard Park).

Random Acts of Weeding!

Do you enjoy the sunshine, salt air and harbor views at the Munro Preserve, just
west of the Mattapoisett Town Wharves? Could you spare a few minutes
occasionally to help maintain the perennial gardens there? If so, please join the
Mattapoisett Land Trust’s Garden Groomers! We meet at Munro at 8 a.m. on
selected mornings each month to pull weeds and do light garden maintenance,
while enjoying a cup of coffee. Groomers work as part of these gatherings or on
their own when time allows. To learn more, please attend our informational
